Recently, at Alliance Manufacturing, Inc., in a case study, we revealed how a leader of GPU manufacturers improved their production quality by integrating a specialized PCB cleaning system tailored to their unique needs. We will explore the challenges, solutions, and outcomes, shedding light on the critical role of high-tech cleaning in electronics manufacturing.
Our customer is a leader among GPU (graphics processing unit) manufacturers for data centers and the consumer electronics market. This company encountered challenges maintaining precision-clean circuit boards that powered its AI processors. In this case, their primary obstacle is to clean tight spaces between the PCB board’s top and bottom surface, where the paste/flux from soldering process contaminants hide, without damaging the circuit boards.
Alliance Manufacturing, Inc. utilized the NU/CLEAN 830 XLR-FB SPL conveyorized belt PCB washer machine with flow/pressure capability to eliminate the residues from the customer circuit board with their patented “FLOOD BOX” technology for the wash rinse sections. With this patented design, achieving 100% cleanliness while maintaining optimal dryness, essential for quality assurance in this high-stakes environment.
Cleaning Method:
- In-Line Cleaner Series 800 with the patented “Flood Box” technology for the wash and rinse sections. The flood box will offer two pumps for each tank (Wash and Rinse), one to create flow and one to apply pressure to remove all residues.
- Tank is equipped with precision detergent dosing system with high flow inductor stirring nozzles for continual tank agitation which is required with modern PCB cleaning solutions.
- The cleaner has a dedicated isolation section with DI water and air to eliminate cross-contamination of the rinse tank.
- The drying section will have three air blower motors with optional heat to be sure all assemblies are 100% dry.
In conclusion, the NU/CLEAN 800 series offer excellent benefits, including increased cleaning efficiency, time and labor savings, environmental sustainability, and enhanced worker safety. Cleanliness is more than a standard procedure for any electronics manufacturer.
