Customer Background
A leading designer and producer of freight car components for railroad transportation. They specialize in products that are more durable and reliable to be able to haul heavier loads more efficiently. They utilize advanced testing procedures, and have developed a mobile asset tracking system for railways.
Challenge
Customer was seeking a parts washing system for removing water-soluble coolant from steel cylinders up to 11” diameter x 8” high. A dual lane system was preferred for separating product types. Each conveyor lane needed to handle 400 parts per 12 hours. Parts needed to be visually clean and as dry as possible upon exiting machine.
Solution
Alliance provided an Aquamaster CB-3000E with two 14” wide conveyors and a 12” product opening. Conveyors are flat wire belts with jam protection and adjustable speed. The belts are flexible and are able to accommodate the curves in the conveyor. Spray nozzles are positioned in multiple areas around the conveyor. Three high-velocity air knives are used for drying. Dual exhaust fans and a large-capacity belt-type oil skimmer are included. A photo eye sensor is located at the end to shut off the drive when a part reaches the end of the conveyor. The electrical panel is a floor-standing model and connected via duct. Customer opted for a custom paint color.
